Cloudy skies, scattered rains forecasted over parts of northern Luzon due to southwest monsoon


The southwest monsoon will be affecting northern Luzon on Saturday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Batanes, Cagayan, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme northern Luzon will experience moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The wind speed forecast for the rest of the country is light to moderate moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
