Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rains over Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Aklan, Antique
The southwest monsoon or Habagat will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Wednesday, PAGASA reported.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 3 a.m., Tropical Storm Nanmadol was located 1,910 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, gustiness up to 80 km/h and central pressure of 996 hPa, moving in the east northeast direction at a speed of 10 km/h.
On the track forecast, it may enter the PAR region on Thursday evening or Friday morning. Once inside the PAR, the domestic name “JOSIE” will be
assigned to this tropical cyclone.
Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Aklan and Antique will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorm due to the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for extreme Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the west to southwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of northern Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the west to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
