Thunderstorms, rainshowers expected due to LPA trough, localized thunderstorms —PAGASA
The trough of the low pressure area (LPA) and localized thunderstorms would bring rainshowers and thunderstorms over the country on Thursday, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms may be experienced over Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao, and Soccsksargen as well as in Bohol, Lanao del Sur, and Maguindanao.
This weather condition caused by the trough of LPA may lead to possible flash floods or landslides during moderate with at times heavy rains, PAGASA warned.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are possible over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms, it added.
PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods or landslides in Metro Manila and the rest of country during severe thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas up to 4.0 meters are expected over Northern Luzon.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas up to 2.1 meters are also possible over Mindanao, Visayas, and the rest of Luzon.
At 3 a.m. on Thursday, the LPA, formerly Tropical Cyclone Queenie, was spotted 420 kilometers east of General Santos City, PAGASA said. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
