Shear line, Amihan to bring rains across country
The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies and rains across the country, PAGASA said on Saturday.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, and the Dinagat Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Heavy to intense, and at times torrential, rains may cause flooding or landslides, it said.
Palawan, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the rest of Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.
Flash floods or landslides may occur as a result of moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said.
Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the Northeast Monsoon, but no significant impact is expected.
The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong wind speeds moving northeast and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speeds moving northeast to north and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 6:18 a.m. on Sunday. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
