LPA spotted east of Catanduanes to bring rains to parts of PH

A low pressure area off the coast of Catanduanes will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to several parts of the country, PAGASA reported in its 24-hour weather forecast on Tuesday.

At 3 p.m. the LPA was located 575 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar due to the trough of the LPA.

Flash floods or landslides may occur because of moderate to heavy rains.

The LPA's trough and the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the northern portion of Palawan, including the Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands, the Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds, as well as slight to moderate coastal water conditions, will be observed throughout the country.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:34 a.m. on Wednesday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
