Cloudy skies, rain showers over parts of PH

The Amihan or Northeast Monsoon is affecting parts of extreme Northern Luzon, while the easterlies are felt over the rest of the Philippines.

According to PAGASA's daily weather forecast on Thursday afternoon, Davao Region, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Batanes and the Babuyan Islands may have cloudy skies with light rains because of the Northeast Monsoon. Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be felt over Metro Manila and the rest of the country because of the combined effects of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Extreme Northern Luzon may experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters.

The rest of the country is forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:23 a.m. on Friday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
