Warm, humid weather to persist due to HPA ridge -PAGASA
Warm and humid weather would persist over a large swath of the Philippines due a high-pressure area (HPA) ridge.
“Ridge ng HPA ang nakakaapekto sa silangang bahagi ng Northern at Central Luzon. Kapag ridge ng HPA ang nakakaapekto sa specific na lugar, asahan natin na mas mababa ang chances ng pag-ulan,” said PAGASA Weather Specialist Veronica Torres on Monday.
(The ridge of the HPA extending over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon lowers the chances of rain in these affected areas.)
Meanwhile, the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) may bring scattered rain-showers over the eastern and southern sections of Mindanao, PAGASA added.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental, and Sarangani due to the LPA trough.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned the public against rain-induced flash floods or landslides in the affected areas.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters may prevail over the country’s seaboards.
