Thunderstorms affect 8 Luzon provinces; warning up over NCR, 3 other areas

Eight provinces in Luzon experienced moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Monday morning.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 11: 57 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said the affected areas are:

• Cavite (General Emilio Aguinaldo, Maragondon, Magallanes),
• Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Lian, Santo Tomas),
• Laguna (Los Banos, Santa Cruz, Liliw, Nagcarlan, Pila, Victoria),
• Rizal (San Mateo, Rodriguez),
• Bulacan (Norzagaray, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Angat, San Rafael),
• Zambales (Subic, Castillejos, San Marcelino, Botolan, Santa Cruz, Candelaria),
• Tarlac (Bamban, Capas), and
• Quezon (Mulanay, Lopez, Macalelon, General Luna, Catanauan, Buenavista).

The condition will persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.

PAGASA said Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bataan, and Metro Manila will also experience moderate to heavy rain showers within the next two hours.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
