PAGASA monitors 2 tropical cyclones outside PAR

PAGASA is monitoring two tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Tuesday afternoon, Severe Tropical Storm Ampil was monitored 1,785 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon with 95 km/h winds and gustiness of up to 115 km/h at 3 p.m.

Tropical Storm Wukong was seen 2,935 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon with 65 km/h winds and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

Ampil was moving northeastward at 20 km/h, while Wukong was almost stationary.

PAGASA said the tropical cyclones have had no effect on the country's weather so far.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect parts of Luzon.

The Habagat may cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be expected over the rest of the country caused by localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are possible due to these weather conditions.

The Philippines will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:42 a.m. on Wednesday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
