Easterlies to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over eastern Luzon, Visayas
The easterlies is forecasted to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau continues to monitor the tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)
As of 3.m., Severe Tropical Cyclone Shanshan was located 2,135 kilometers east of Central Luzon packing maximum sustained winds at 100 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 125 kph, and almost stationary.
Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward with slight to moderate coastal waters.
