Amihan, easterlies to bring rains over Luzon, parts of PH

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will continue to affect Luzon while the easterlies will keep bringing rains over the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Mindanao, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Southern Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light rains will persist over Batanes due to the Amihan.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

These conditions will have no significant weather impact expected.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed over throughout the rest of Visayas due to the easterlies.

These conditions may result in severe thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said Northern and Central Luzon will see moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate coastal water conditions.

Meanwhile, winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be 6:25 a.m. on Monday.
