PAGASA: Shear line, Amihan to keep bringing rain to Luzon

The shear line and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

These moderate to heavy with at times intense rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will be observed over Caraga and Davao Region due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and CALABARZON will see cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.

The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains throughout the rest of Luzon, with no significant weather impact expected.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist over the rest of Mindanao due to the easterlies.

These conditions may result in severe thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong to gale while coastal water will be rough to very rough in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Meanwhile, Mindanao will see light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

The sun will rise at 6:22 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
