Scattered rain, thunderstorms expected across eastern PH

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its Monday afternoon forecast.

Moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies.

Severe thunderstorms may still pose a risk of flash floods and landslides.

PAGASA also reported that moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters, while the rest of the country can expect light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Temperatures at PAGASA's Quezon City Science Garden weather station dropped to a low of 23.6 °C at 6:20 a.m., and rose to a high of 34.3 °C    at 12:30 p.m.
