‘Danger level’ heat index to hit 14 areas on Tuesday, April 14, 2025
Fourteen areas are expected to have a “danger level” heat index on Tuesday, PAGASA said in its daily forecast.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. bulletin, a heat index of 43°C might hit the following areas:
- Sangley Point, Cavite City
- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
- Virac (Synop), Catanduanes
- Dumangas, Iloilo
- La Granja, La Carlota, Negros Occidental
Meanwhile, the following areas could reach up to 42°C temperature:
- Cubi Pt, Subic Bay, Olongapo City
- San Ildenfonso, Bulacan
- TAU Camiling, Tarlac
- Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas
- NAS-UPLB, Los Baños, Laguna
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Cuyo, Palawan
- CMU Agromet, Musuan, Bukidnon
- Davao City
In Metro Manila, the NAIA Pasay City and Science Garden Quezon City are both facing a high of 40°C.
PAGASA categorizes areas with a 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 33°C to 41°C fall under the “extreme caution” category.
Heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible in areas under extreme caution, while heat stroke is a potential risk under the danger level.
The state weather bureau earlier said zero or one tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this April.
