LPA to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas

The low pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over part of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., the LPA was spotted 270 km west northwest of Cuyo, Palawan or 140 km west of Coron, Palawan.

In its daily weather forecast, the state weather bureau said these areas are MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Northern Samar, Samar, and Biliran.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:32 a.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
