Frontal system, easterlies to bring rains over parts of PH on election day

The frontal system and the easterlies will continue to bring rains across the country on election day, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

State meteorologists also said winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in extreme northern Luzon.

The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to rough coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:39 a.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
