Thunderstorm alert up over Zambales, Bataan

Zambales and Bataan are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Tuesday morning.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 5:30 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA advised affected residents to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.

PAGASA earlier said Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect parts of Mindanao.

Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, and Pampanga will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possible occurrence of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

On the other hand, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
