Rainy weather in most of PH on Independence Day due to LPA, Habagat
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring scattered rains over Batanes, Cagayan while the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and western Mindanao will have scattered rains due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, PAGASA reported.
As of 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 235 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Wutip remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,025 kilometers west of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph and moving northwestward at the speed of 10 kph.
Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro will have monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Antique will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwestward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The wind speed forecast in Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
