Heavy rainfall expected in Luzon for next few days — PAGASA


PAGASA on Thursday afternoon issued a heavy rainfall outlook for several parts of Luzon due to the Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

According to its Weather Advisory No. 7 at 5 p.m., the following areas should expect heavy rains over the next few days:

  • Thursday to Friday afternoon
    100-200mm: Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan
    50-100mm: Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Metro Manila, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro
     
  • Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon
    50-100mm: Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan
     
  • Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon
    100-200mm: Batanes
    50-100mm: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan

“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” the advisory said.

PAGASA also advised affected public and disaster risk reduction and management offices to take all necessary precautionary measures. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
