PAGASA: 'High' chance for LPA outside PAR to become tropical depression
The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a high potential to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the LPA (07d) was located 2,070 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon.
Meanwhile, another LPA (07c) that is also outside of PAR only has a medium chance of becoming a tropical depression, said PAGASA. The said LPA was last monitored at 820 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon as of 8 p.m.
Further, an LPA that is a remnant of Tropical Depression “Danas”, or locally known as Typhoon Bising, remains outside of PAR and is unlikely to redevelop into a tropical depression again.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that one death was reported in Metro Manila due to Bising and the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat. The said fatality is still being validated.
Meanwhile, 42 areas were submerged in floodwaters due to the rains brought by the storm and the Southwest Monsoon. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
