Habagat rains, cloudy skies expected across PH

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will prevail across the Philippines, the state weather bureau PAGASA said in its early Saturday morning forecast.

Western Visayas, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro will see occasional rains, while Metro Manila, Mindanao, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Pangasinan, the rest of Visayas, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed for the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring a tropical storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

At 2 a.m., the tropical storm, carrying winds of 65 km/h with gustiness of up to 80 km/h, was located 1,925 km east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. It was moving west northwest slowly.

Winds across the country will be light to moderate, along with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:34 a.m. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
