New LPA inside PAR has ‘medium’ possibility of turning into tropical cyclone — PAGASA

The new low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a “medium” chance of becoming a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., LPA 07f was located 1,040 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon.

The LPA is expected to affect the weather conditions of CARAGA, Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate, according to the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. daily weather forecast.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods and landslides.

State meteorologists also said the extreme Northern Luzon and western sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate wind and coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
