PAGASA: Southwest Monsoon, LPA to bring rains over parts of PH
Rains are expected over some parts of the country on Wednesday due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and the low pressure area (LPA), according to PAGASA's 4 a.m. weather forecast.
At 3 a.m., the weather bureau said LPA was estimated at 975 km east of Southeastern Luzon (13.9°N, 133.2°E).
It is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
PAGASA said the LPA has a chance of developing into a tropical depression, according to a report on Unang Balita. Once it becomes a tropical depression, it will be called Crising.
Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought about by the Southwest Monsoon.
The rest of Luzon will also be impacted by the Southwest Monsoon and will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Residents in the areas expected to be affected by the weather systems are advised to be on alert for possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.
