LPA east of Aurora now Tropical Depression Dante
The low pressure area located east of Aurora has developed into Tropical Depression Dante on Tuesday afternoon, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
“At 2 p.m. today, the low pressure area east of Aurora developed into Tropical Depression #DantePH,” PAGASA said in an update.
Tropical cyclone bulletins will be issued starting 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to PAGASA.
Dante is the fourth tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year.
Several parts of the country are still experiencing rains even after tropical cyclone Crising (international name: Wipha) left the PAR last weekend.
Classes and government work have been suspended at least until Wednesday in Metro Manila and some provinces in Luzon and Visayas due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
PAGASA is also monitoring two LPAs, one of which was spotted outside the PAR. Both have a ‘’medium’’ chance of becoming tropical cyclones within the next 24 hours, the weather bureau said. —Joviland Rita/VBL, GMA Integrated News
