Habagat to bring rains over Luzon; tropical depression monitored outside PAR
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to affect several areas in the country as a Tropical Depression is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast, the cyclone was seen at 1,365 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
The Monsoon, on the other hand, is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Visayas and Mindanao will be having partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of said weather conditions.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters may be anticipated over the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon.
The rest of the country will be having light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Sunrise will be at 5:40 a.m. on Saturday. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
