Trough of Tropical Depression, Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rains over PH

The Trough of the Tropical Depression and Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be affecting various parts of the country on Friday, PAGASA reported.

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau continues to monitor the Tropical Depression (formarly Jacinto), which is located 650 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales and packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h and moving westward at the speed of 15 km/h.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Trough of the Tropical Depression with the possible occurrence of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Dinagat Islands, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Trough of the Tropical Depression with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wnd speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate and movng in the southeast to east direction with moderate coastal waters.

Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction with moderate coastal waters.

In Mindanao, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate and moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
