Easterlies, localized thunderstorms to bring clouds, rains

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country on Monday, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Moderate to at times heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:45 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:03 p.m.

PAGASA meanwhile said Severe Tropical Storm Tapah, which was called Lannie when it was still inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, was located as of 3 a.m. at 910 km west of extreme Northern Luzon.

Tapah has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and with gustiness of up to 115 km/h.
