Opong, Habagat to bring heavy rains over Luzon, Visayas


Severe Tropical Storm Opong and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) are expected to bring heavy rains over several locations in Luzon and the Visayas on Friday and Saturday, said PAGASA.

In its 5 a.m. heavy rain outlook due to Opong issued on Sept. 26, PAGASA identified the areas are as follows:

“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” the state weather bureau said.

PAGASA advised he public disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property.
