Rains expected over the weekend due to trough of LPA, southwesterly wind

The trough of a low pressure area and the southwesterly windflow are causing rains over parts of the country.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast, the southwesterly windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA, while the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of said weather conditions.

Meanwhile, moderate winds with moderate waters may be felt over extreme Northern Luzon.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:47 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
