Verbena to bring rains, gusty winds; 2 weather systems to cause cloudy skies and rains

Tropical Depression Verbena will bring rains and gusty winds while the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains in different parts of the country, the state weather bureau said early Tuesday morning.

In its 4 a.m. daily weather forecast, PAGASA said the center of Verbena was estimated to be in the vicinity of Talisay, Cebu as of 3 a.m.

The tropical depression is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h and is moving northwestward at 25 km/h.

Verbena will cause rains and gusty winds over the Visayas, MIMAROPA, Caraga, and Masbate, as well as cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Bicol Region and the rest of Mindanao on Tuesday.

In its 2 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin on Verbena, PAGASA said 30 areas across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are under Signal No. 1 as the tropical depression slightly accelerated.

Meanwhile, the shear line affecting the eastern section of Luzon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya.

The Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Northern Luzon will cause cloudy skies with rains in Pangasinan and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon.

Luzon will experience strong winds and rough coastal water conditions while the rest of Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

The rest of Mindanao will have moderate winds and moderate coastal water conditions.
