ITCZ to bring scattered rains over southern Mindanao; amihan to affect extreme N. Luzon

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over southern Mindanao while the northeast monsoon or amihan will affect extreme Northern Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

The state weather bureau is still monitoring Tropical Depression Koto (formerly Verbena), which is located 470 kilometers northwest of Pag-Asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h and moving almost stationary and will not be directly affecting the country.

PAGASA reported that Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ as flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but this will have no significant impact on the said areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur but these would be during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the north to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 6:06 a.m., sunset at 5:25 a.m. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
