LPA to bring cloudy skies, rain over MIMAROPA

The low pressure area (LPA) monitored near Palawan is expected to bring cloudy skies and rain over several areas in the MIMAROPA region in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., the LPA was located 200 kilometers east southeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The affected areas are Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Palawan, based on the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. weather forecast.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist over the Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Aurora due to the shear line.

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Romblon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Localized thunderstorms bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect the weather conditions of Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, Batanes, and Ilocos Region, with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong, while coastal waters will be rough in the northern and eastern sections of Luzon.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate in Visayas and Mindanao.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
