2 areas under Signal No. 2 as Ada moves over Southern Luzon
Only two areas remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as Tropical Storm Ada maintains strength over the eastern part of Southern Luzon, PAGASA said on Saturday.
In PAGASA’s 11 p.m. cyclone bulletin, the agency said Catanduanes and the eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, Presentacion, San Jose) will experience winds of 62 to 88 kph within the next 24 hours under Signal No. 2.
The following areas remain under Signal No. 1:
- Southeastern Isabela (Dinapigue, Palanan)
- Aurora
- Eastern Quezon (Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Lopez, Calauag, Buenavista, San Narciso, San Andres, San Francisco, Mulanay, Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, Gumaca, Pitogo, Unisan, Atimonan, Plaridel, Agdangan, Padre Burgos, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban) including Polillo Islands
- Marinduque
- Eastern Romblon (Cajidiocan, Magdiwang, San Fernando)
- Camarines Norte
- The rest of Camarines Sur
- Albay
- Sorsogon
- Northern and central Masbate (Uson, Mobo, City of Masbate, Baleno, Aroroy, Mandaon, Milagros, Balud) including Ticao and Burias Islands
- Northern Samar
PAGASA said Tropical Storm Ada was last located 120 kilometers north-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, or 315 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gusts of up to 105 kph.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds may be experienced outside Ada’s landfall point and forecast confidence cone.
Ada is expected to remain a tropical storm as it moves over the eastern part of Luzon before weakening into a tropical depression by Tuesday afternoon or evening.
However, PAGASA said further intensification into a severe tropical storm remains possible.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
