Amihan, thunderstorms expected across PH

Amihan, thunderstorms expected across PH

Cloudy skies and light rains are expected in several areas of the country in the next 24 hours because of the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.

These areas include Cagayan Valley, Caraga, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, and Misamis Oriental.

The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the rest of Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist throughout the rest of Mindanao.

PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides.

At 3 p.m. the low pressure area, formerly tropical cyclone Ada, was located 1,000 km east of Northeastern Mindanao.

The eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience strong to gale winds and rough to very rough coastal waters.

Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Friday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
