LIST: Areas with coldest temperatures on January 23, 2026

State weather bureau PAGASA released a list of the coldest areas in the country on Friday amid the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan season.

Leading the list was Baguio City with the lowest temperature at 10.6 degrees Celsius.

Based on PAGASA’s update, here are the Top 10 areas with the lowest temperatures recorded as of Friday morning:

Baguio City – 10.6°C

Basco, Batanes – 16.2°C

Tanay, Rizal – 16.3°C

Malaybalay, Bukidnon – 17.6°C

San Ildefonso, Bulacan – 18.2°C

Abucay, Bataan – 18.3°C

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – 18.5°C

Casiguran, Aurora – 18.8°C

Sinait, Ilocos Sur – 19.0°C

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – 19.0°C

PAGASA attributed the cooler temperatures to the continued influence of the amihan.

According to PAGASA, intermittent cool temperatures will be felt until February due to thick snow cover and an intensified high-pressure area over Siberia and China, which is bringing cold air toward the Philippines. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
