LPA trough to bring cloudy skies, rains over eastern Mindanao

The trough of Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern section of Mindanao on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

As of 2 a.m., the LPA is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwesterly windflow. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Eastern Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for Palawan is light to moderate and moving in the southwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal areas.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to southwest direction with slight to moderate coasal waters.

The wind speed forecast for the Visayas will be light to moderate moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
