16 areas may experience 'danger' heat index level on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 — PAGASA
At least 16 areas across the country are expected to experience “danger” level heat index on June 2, 2026, according to PAGASA.
According to the state weather bureau’s five-day heat index forecast on Sunday, the following areas may record "danger" heat index levels ranging from 42°C to 43°C:

- Baler (Radar), Batanes
- Infanta, Quezon
- CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur
- Borongan, Eastern Samar

- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Aparri, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Virac (Synop), Catanduanes
- Masbate City, Masbate
- Catarman, Northern Samar
- Catbalogan, Samar
- Guiuan, Eastern Samar
- Maasin, Southern Leyte
- Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur
Meanwhile, at least 56 areas are forecast to experience ‘extreme caution’ heat index levels ranging from 33°C to 41°C, and at least three areas under ‘caution’ heat index levels ranging from 27 °C to 32°C.
The following areas in Benguet are forecast to experience "not hazardous" heat index levels:
- Baguio City - 25 °C
- BSU La Trinidad, Benguet - 25 °C
- Benguet Radar, Tuba, Benguet - 19 °C
The heat index refers to the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity is combined with actual air temperature. High humidity slows the evaporation of sweat, making it more difficult for the body to cool down.
PAGASA advised the public to limit their time outside and use umbrellas or caps when outdoors. The state weather bureau also recommended drinking lots of water and avoiding intake of tea, coffee, and sodas. — BAP, GMA News
