Tropical Depression Ester exits PAR
Tropical Depression Ester has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA said Saturday morning.
In its 11 advisory, PAGASA said Ester was last spotted 550 km North Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes outside PAR with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1002 hPa.
No wind signal is currently hoisted
"Tropical Depression ESTER is forecast to move generally northeastward over the East China Sea while maintaining its strength. ESTER is expected to gradually intensify as it moves toward southern Japan," PAGASA said.
However, PAGASA said that the Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today: Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley
• Tomorrow (07 June): Batanes and Babuyan Islands
"Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials," said PAGASA. --VAL, GMA News
