The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is expected to bring rain over Northern and Central Luzon on Monday, the state weather bureau said Sunday.

In its 4 p.m. forecast, PAGASA said the monsoon may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Bataan.

The habagat may also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region and Zambales, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Affected areas may experience possible flash floods or landslides during periods of heavy rain.

Moderate winds are expected over Extreme Northern Luzon, with moderate coastal waters and wave heights ranging from 1.2 to 2.5 meters.

Light to moderate winds will prevail over the rest of the country, with slight to moderate seas and wave heights of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature on Saturday reached 33.3 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m., while the lowest was 25.6 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m.

Sunrise in Metro Manila on Monday will be at 5:26 a.m.

As of 2 p.m., no low-pressure areas (LPAs) are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation, according to PAGASA.—MCG, GMA News
