Typhoon Inday, Habagat to bring rain over Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
Typhoon Inday and the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rain over Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Saturday, PAGASA reported.
As of 3 a.m., the center of Typhoon Inday was estimated at 490 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 170 km/h and moving northwestward at the speed of 20 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Batanes will be stormy due to Typhoon Inday with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to heavy rains. The weather bureau said there may be minor to moderate threat to life and property due to gale-force winds.
Cagayan will have rains with gusty winds due to Typhoon Inday and the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains. There may be minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds in the province.
Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, and Batangas will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Isabela will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Typhoon Inday with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for the rest of Luzon is moderate to strong and moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Visayas and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Mindanao will experience moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction and moderate coastal waters.
