Habagat to bring isolated rain showers, thunderstorms over western PH

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is forecast to affect the western section of the country on Tuesday, July 21, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Mindanao, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region.

The same weather conditions are expected over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, and Batangas.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms are forecast to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country, with waves ranging from 0.6 meters to 1.8 meters.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the temperature on Monday peaked at 33.5 degrees Celsius at 1 p.m., while the lowest temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at 6 a.m.
