Kiyapo makes landfall in Calayan, Cagayan

Tropical Storm Kiyapo made landfall in the vicinity of Camiguin Is., Calayan, Cagayan on Friday afternoon.

"At 2:10 PM today (24 July 2026), the center of Tropical Storm #KiyapoPH made landfall in the vicinity of Camiguin Is., Calayan, Cagayan," PAGASA said in its Facebook post.

Kiyapo continued its path northwest and is also expected to make landfall in the Babuyan Islands within 12 hours.

In its 2:00 PM bulletin, PAGASA said that Kiyapo may also intensify into a severe tropical storm as it traverses the areas of Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. Signal No. 3 has not been ruled out.

PAGASA said that Kiyapo may undergo further rapid intensification into a typhoon over the West Philippine Sea as it heads towards southern China.

Tropical Storm Kiyapo is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by the morning of July 25, 2026, according to PAGASA. —VAL, GMA News
