Habagat to keep bringing rains over parts of Luzon, Western Visayas 

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is expected to continue bringing rain over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas on Tuesday, the state weather bureau, PAGASA, said.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Monday, the monsoon is expected to bring occasional rain over Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.

The Habagat may also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of MIMAROPA, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms are expected to cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Tropical Storm Peilou was monitored 3,000 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 p.m.

It packs maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour. The tropical cyclone is moving eastward at 35 kilometers per hour. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA News
