Former President Rodrigo Duterte will not sell his house in Davao City, according to his son, Davao City First District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte.

Pulong said he asked his father about the supposed sale of the house when he visited him in prison in The Hague, Netherlands and the older Duterte was clear he does not want to sell the property.

“So ato siyang gipangutana ug ibaligya ba tong balay sa among lola ingon siya dili daw to ibaligya, di siya mosugot,” Pulong said.

The former President also reportedly clarified that the house in question, located in a subdivision in Davao City, is different from the residence of his common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña.

“Unya ako nang gidiretso nga imong balay dinha sa Doña Luisa, ibaligya ba, mitubag ra man siya nganong ibaligya man daw nga mao daw nay pinakauna niyang balay unya si Honeylet naa man daw kaugalingong balay dako daw,” Pulong added.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to Avanceña for a statement, as of this writing.

The clarification follows after a photo circulated on social media on Saturday, June 28, 2025, showing a tarpaulin with the words “House and Lot for Sale” and a contact number displayed at the gate of the former President’s house.

However, the tarp was not there when the news team visited the residence the next day. The number listed on the signage could not be reached.

The residence has drawn attention from the public since March 13, 2025 when the alleged report broke out that the property might be subject to a search by authorities. Since then, the house has been under constant watch and visited frequently by supporters.

Pulong added that their family intends to have the former President stay in the house when he returns home.

“Ang among inahan si mama namo nisulti gyud nga og puhon, puhon kaluy-an sa Ginoo nga makagawas siya, didto na siya papuy-on sa balay namo,” Pulong said.
