The unemployment rate in the Davao Region has gone down, according to the Philippine Statics Authority (PSA).

Based on data from PSA, the unemployment rate in the region dropped to 2.9 percent in 2025, lower than the 3.2 percent recorded in 2024.

This means that around 73,000 individuals were unemployed in the region last year, down from the 79,000 in 2024.

The unemployed include those without jobs, those available for work, actively seeking employment, or not searching due to certain reasons.

Meanwhile, the number of employed persons rose from 2.39 million 2024 to an estimated 2.48 million in 2025.  This group covers individuals who worked for at least one hour, as well as unpaid workers in family-operated farms or businesses.

PSA noted that its survey accounts for individuals 15 years old and above.

“This positive labor market outcomes are aligned with the governments continuing efforts to promote inclusive growth, employment generation, enterprises development and workforce competitiveness,” Department of Labor and Employment-Davao (DOLE-11) Director, Atty. Randolf Pensoy, said.
