Several vehicles parked at a school were damaged when a parking shed gave in during strong winds and heavy rains in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Video footage showed the roof and metal frames of the parking shed at Sultan Kudarat State University-Access Campus collapsing after being battered by strong winds.

Because of this, some parked vehicles were hit.

In a statement, the school reported that several trees and electric posts within the campus also fell.

However, no one was reported hurt.

As a safety measure, faculty and students were advised to use the exit gate temporarily.

School officials continue to assess and inspect the school for other damage.

Meanwhile, several houses in Barangay Cale-an were also damaged by strong winds and heavy rains.

Residents affected are safe and have stayed temporarily with relatives.

State weather bureau PAGASA said localized thunderstorms brought the rains and strong winds in the area.
