A 42-year-old woman and her three minor children were found dead inside their house at a compound in Purok 5, Barangay Latipan, Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur morning on Monday, June 29, 2026.

According to the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, the victims are a barangay health worker and her children – two girls, 14 and 16 years old, and an 11-year-old boy.

They sustained stab wounds.

Personnel of the Josefina Municipal Police Station responded to the area after receiving information from a barangay councilman that the victims were found dead around 7 a.m.

Investigators said the suspect may have entered the house through a damaged portion of a wall.

Authorities said the victims may have been killed over the weekend.

Police condemned the incident and have opened an investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office also urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and coordinate with authorities to help solve the case and ensure justice for the victims.
