The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-7 arrested five people allegedly involved in distributing counterfeit seasoning granules.
The five were arrested during an entrapment operation in Barangay Subangdako in Mandaue City, Cebu.
They are facing charges for alleged violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
The five arrested are from Lapu-Lapu City and the town of Cordova in Cebu.
CIDG launched the operation after a private company sought its help about the proliferation of the fake seasoning granules.
The items the CIDG seized are worth up to P1.2 million.
