A hailstorm swept across Mount Pulag in Kabayan, Benguet, bringing heavy rain and ice pellets that damaged some vegetable farms.
Residents said hailstones, some about the size of marbles and corn kernels, fell during the storm.
Some farmers reported damage to crops, including carrots, following the brief but intense weather event.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said hail forms when raindrops become trapped in the upper, colder parts of a thunderstorm cloud, where they freeze before falling to the ground.
PAGASA added that hailstorms are usually short-lived, although they can still cause damage to crops and property.
