A 45-year-old rider died after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into the motorcycle he was riding in Lala, Lanao del Norte.
Based on investigation, the victim was traveling through Barangays Panguil and Maranding around 6 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, when the SUV crashed into the motorcycle.
The victim did not reach the hospital alive.
Due to the impact, another motorcycle parked by the road was also hit, leaving a 63-year-old rider injured.
The SUV driver was believed to have dozed off.
The vehicles involved in the incident are now in police custody as authorities continue to investigate.
Meanwhile, authorities are still determining whether the victims’ families will file charges against the SUV driver.
